Cheers to our new Chocolate Boutique!

It would be wrong of me to get any further along in the holiday crush and not tell you that there exists a new boutique where you can sit with your girlfriends (or boyfriend), drink a chocolate martini, trade gossip and gifts, eat decadent chocolate mousse cakes, pick up last-minute holiday gifts, and feel a bit like you’re in France.

That Valentino-inspired tower of roses? It's a cake.

Julia Baker is a local chocolate artist and confection elf whose cakes and candies travel high on the society circuit. Women actually break their diets to partake (then fight over who gets the chocolate-covered caramel). Her new boutique is at the Intercontinental Montelucia Resort & Spa!

Julia Baker Confections is next to Prado inside the Montelucia: 4949 E. Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale. (At Tatum.) Open 10 a.m to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays. Shop virtually here.

P.S. On Sunday mornings, I’ve heard there are even chocolate-stuffed croissants!!!!

Julia Baker Confections Announces Kosher Certification Approval For Line of Luxurious Chocolates and Confections

Scottsdale, AZ, December 2010 - Julia Baker Confections (JBC), the luxury confections brand launched by Le Cordon Bleu-trained Pastry Chef Julia Baker, has officially been certified as Kosher by the Greater Phoenix Va’ad Hakashruth, a nonprofit agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix that oversees compliance in accordance with Jewish dietary laws.

“We are very excited to have completed the detailed process of being Kosher-certified,” said CEO and company Founder Julia Baker. “The Kosher community is vast and well-informed; we’re happy to be included as one of the accepted vendors!”

Included in the company’s Kosher certification are the milk and dark chocolate ganache squares as well as Julia Baker’s award-winning truffles.  Va’ad Hakashruth Rabbi David Rebibo and his team visited the Julia Baker Confections production facilities several times during the certification process in order to review the company’s processes and ingredients.  “Becoming Kosher means that we can reach out to the Jewish community at large,” JBC’s Chief Operation Office, Francesco Roccato, explained. “We can translate this news into positive results on our bottom line.”
